  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add sesame oil.
  2. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon while cooking. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Toss in shredded carrots and cook for one minute to slightly soften.
  6. Serve the crispy beef over warm jasmine rice. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of sesame oil if desired.
